Need to Borrow a Laptop?

Posted by UCSB Library on December 25, 2010

The library checks out laptops!  To check one out you must be a UC faculty, staff, or fully-enrolled student with a valid UCSB library card.  You will need a UCSBnet ID and password to access the wireless network.

Laptops may be borrowed from the Davidson Library Circulation Desk for 4 hours at a time.  They have the same basic software as our regular public computers (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and web browsers).  Plus, when you are connected to the wireless and run the print software on the machine, you can print to any of our public printers.

To protect yourself and our laptops, please read the entire laptop policy before checking one out. You are responsible for the laptop while it is checked out.  You will be charged a fine if it is overdue and/or a replacement cost if it is lost, stolen, or damaged while in your possession.

We hope you enjoy this service from your library.
