SciFinder comes to the Web!

SciFinder is now available on the Web, and we are one of the first libraries to get it. SciFinder is a user-friendly version of the Chemical Abstracts databases, the most important collection of information in chemistry and chemical engineering.

Previously only available with special software, SciFinder Web allows searching of tens of millions of documents, substances and reactions by search terms or chemical structure. UCSB faculty, staff and students can register to use SciFinder Web’s many features, including personalized search alerts.

Besides chemistry, biochemistry and chemical engineering, SciFinder Web can be a valuable search tool for various areas of molecular biology, physics, geochemistry, medicine, forensics and much more.
