Posted by UCSB Libraries on December 13, 2007
INT 100WS, Topics in Advanced Research: Learn about information resources and library services for researching women’s, feminist, and gender issues across the disciplines. The course is designed to teach students how to use research tools critically and effectively.
Emphasis will be placed on how to efficiently locate academic and other useful information in specialized reference books, library catalogs, subject specific article databases, women’s studies article databases and open access Web sites. Central to the course will be the critical assessment of the challenges in identification, evaluation and application of information resources.
Interdisciplinary 100WS will be most beneficial to students concurrently enrolled in a course requiring a significant research paper.
