Free Classical Music

Posted by UCSB Libraries on August 8, 2007

Want free classical music? Go to:

http://musicdownloads.alexanderstreet.com/promo

Approximately every other week, a classical work is made available at this site for free download. You can select the format, either MP3 or WMA, and download the tracks onto your personal computer, transfer them to your iPods or other MP3 player, or burn them onto discs. You can also sign up to receive an email alert when a new selection becomes available.

The Libraries also have tens of thousands of audio selections available for streaming listening:

African American Song
Classical Music Library
Naxos Music Library
Naxos Music Library Jazz
Smithsonian Global Sound

From off-campus, UCSB students, faculty, and staff can access these databases using the Libraries proxy server or VPN.
