Angela Boyd comes to us from Los Angeles. In the time she has been here, she has fallen in love with the campus and the fact that there are so few traffic jams around town. She also loves that there is a Jamba Juice at the University Center and can be found there enjoying their Green Tea smoothies.
Angela received her Masters in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University and worked most recently for the Los Angeles Community College District.
She is currently involved with two California academic and research interest groups: Southern California Instruction Librarians and Diversity in Academic Libraries. She is keeping quite busy, as she is the collection manager for Psychology, teaches Library instruction courses, and works at the Reference Desk.
The UCSB Libraries are delighted to welcome Chimene Tucker, who comes to us from San
Diego State University where she was night supervisor of the library’s circulation desk. She received her Masters in Library Science from San Jose State.
Chimene has long had an interest in world cultures, and has recently been appointed World History Librarian at UCSB.
As such, she has the privilege of acquiring and maintaining collections in that area, and of working with the faculty, staff and students in the History Department.
She will also be teaching Interdisciplinary 1, the Library’s credit-bearing course on research, information literacy, and the role of the library in the research process.
